5.5.18 TRIGger Subsystem
The TRIGger group of commands is used to control synchronization of data acquisition with external events. TRIGger
commands generally affect only the Pulse mode and the gated Statistical mode.
TRIGger:BTRIGger:ECOUNT
Description: Set or return the B trigger event count. The event count is used when the B trigger is in the delay
by events mode, TRIGger:BTRIGger:MODE is set to EDLY.
Syntax: TRIGger:BTRIGger:ECOUNT <n>
Argument: <n> = 1 to 999,999
Valid Modes: Pulse and gated Statistical modes only
TRIGger:BTRIGger:LEVel
Description: Set or return the B trigger level for synchronizing data acquisition with a pulsed input signal or
external trigger pulses. The internal trigger level entered should include any global offset and will
also be affected by the frequency Cal-factor. The available internal trigger level range is sensor
dependent. For internal trigger, the trigger level is set and returned in channel units. The external
trigger has two ranges, 5 and 50 volts. Note that there is a small amount of hysteresis built into
the trigger system, and the signal should have at least one dB greater swing in each direction past
the internal trigger level setting, and somewhat more at low levels. The B Trigger is not active if
TRIGger:BTRIGger:MODE is set to OFF.
Syntax: TRIGger:BTRIGger:LEVel <n>
Argument: <n> = -39.9 to +20 dBm (plus offset, if any) (internal trigger)
<n> = 5.0 volts or 50 volts (external trigger)
Valid Modes: Pulse and gated Statistical modes only
TRIGger:BTRIGger:MODE
Description: Set or return the B trigger mode for the delayed trigger function with pulsed signals. When set to
OFF, the delayed B trigger is inactive. When set to TDLY, the B trigger is delayed in time from
the main or A trigger. The delay time is set by the TRIGger:BTRIGger:TDLY command. When
set to EDLY, the B trigger is delayed by a number of trigger events starting at the A trigger time.
The number of events to delay is set by the TRIGger:BTRIGger:ECOUNT command.
Syntax: TRIGger:BTRIGger:MODE <asc>
Argument: <asc> = {OFF, TDLY, EDLY}
Valid Modes: Pulse and gated Statistical modes only
